Fostering Growth


Rachel lends her talents educating, managing logistics, and advocating to organizations in the sustainable food sector. Current Projects:


Rachel is currently the Begin Farming Program Coordinator at the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association, and recently served as a president of the Central Ohio Young Farmer Coalition. She actively develops leadership skills and connects young sustainable farmers to available resources.

Rachel consults with Foraged & Sown farm for several projects including the Mad About Saffron growing and education exploration, and the New Seasons, New Americans high tunnel activities.

The Homestead is named after Rachel’s fifth generation elder, Harmonious Hornbaker, in part because music is important to us. We host house concerts with Ohio Old Time Music and support Square Dance Columbus.
